LEADERSHIP
Managing Director
Steven P. Cohen is the Managing Director and co-founder of Nautilus Capital, LLC, which began operations in the year 2000. Mr. Cohen is responsible for client and investor relationship development, company growth and overall management of the firm. During its history, Nautilus has provided bids to its clients on more than $15 billion of residential and commercial mortgage loans and has completed hundreds of separate loan sale transactions. In 2007, Mr. Cohen was instrumental in getting Nautilus Capital approved as a Financial Advisor to the FDIC, which resulted in a number of successful structured transactions. These included a $145 million residential construction loan portfolio and a $1 billion sale of commercial construction and development loans.
Prior to founding Nautilus Capital, Mr. Cohen served for over three years as Vice President of Structured Finance at HomeGold, Inc., a national independent mortgage company. Mr. Cohen's responsibilities included the management of all loan sales in the Secondary Marketing department. This entailed periodic discount sales and included several private placements within a micro-securitization structure. Mr. Cohen's additional duties included pipeline hedge management to protect the company’s net interest margin, as well as initiating and monitoring the hedging program to minimize the effects of adverse interest rate movements. Mr. Cohen utilized interest rate swaps, futures, and Treasury bonds to optimize the hedging program.
The last ten years of his Wall Street career were spent with Bear Stearns & Co., Inc., where he was Vice President of Institutional Sales.
Mr. Cohen received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Bucknell University.
